A new random event that spawns a Loot Crystal has been added. Loot Crystals have major rewards, but very high life values. You’ll need to kill the Loot Crystal before it falls off the screen in order to collect what’s inside! As with treasure chests, these crystals will indicate their reward type as a hovering icon above them so you can get a preview of what’s potentially inside. By default, these crystals offer about 1.25x the rewards of a chest, so breaking them open is probably a good idea if you can!
Additionally, three Explorer tree passives have been added to let you further customize your experience with this new event.
This event will likely need some tuning as various builds and setups are explored, as the damage checks can get pretty tight in high level content.
I’ve added the new reward feature to both Treasure Beetles and to Astral Incursion bosses. These on average will reward twice the amount of loot as a chest to account for the gameplay disruption.
Enabled Loot Crystals
Added rewards to Treasure Beetles, with a 2x base quantity multiplier on rewards granted
Added rewards to Slime King and Queen Bee, with a 2x base quantity multiplier on rewards granted
Increased Astral Incursion boss health by ~25%
Added one new unique item
Buffed the stat values on 11 existing unique items
Fixed a bug where uniques would not enter the drop pool under certain conditions
Added 18 new item modifiers
Increased the stat values on most artifacts
Fixed a bug where the Debug World would spawn for new characters
