I'm super excited to share with you some awesome updates I've been working on for Darklight Odyssey. I've been focusing on making the game more engaging and visually appealing by tweaking player movement, animation, environment, and light effects. Plus, I've added a shooting mechanic and some random environment assets to spice things up. Let's dive into the details!
I've been working with various talented artists to bring my vision for Darklight Odyssey to life. After commissioning pieces from five different artists, I found one whose style really clicked with the game's concept. The artwork they created is now featured in the current build, and I couldn't be happier with the result! If you're curious, you can check out their gig at Fiverr Artist (Main Character) I'm looking forward to working with them on more projects in the future.
Although the other four artists also created amazing pieces, I ultimately decided to go in a different direction with the game's art style. That being said, I'm grateful for their contributions and wish them the best in their artistic endeavors. Here is some of the artwork that we wont use so it's ok to show the progression.
Art Concepts:
As Darklight Odyssey continues to grow and evolve, I'm keeping an eye out for a more permanent artist who can match the talent of the Fiverr artist I've been working with. If you know someone or are an artist yourself, feel free to reach out!
That's it for this update! I hope you're as excited as I am about the artistic direction of Darklight Odyssey. Stay tuned for more dev blog posts as I continue to develop this incredible game.
