Dev Log 0.5 - Up til Level Up Showcase
This development is our final log before our showcase release build. It is still being updated until we reach the showcase on the 19th.
Water System
General bug fixes were completed. Updated the vfx to look more like water, integrated with alert manager to alert ui the player when the watering can is empty, paired the UI water level bar to the watering can and have it active when the watercan is in the inventory.
Day/Night Cycle
Updated the cycle length to be around 5 minutes long for the entire day. Updated the bloom post processing effect to be blue during the night for better lighting during the night cycle. Added the day skip sleep mechanic and updated it to be at anytime of the day (was previously only at night).
Art
Added hydrangea models. More decoration models such as frog statue and gnome. Added splash screen and created the video trailer for the page.
Flower Wilting Mechanic
Updated and fixed bugs, flowers now wilt when not watered and visually shows this.
Shader updates
Addes sprite shadow shader so the background sprites interact with game lighting.
Art UI
Updated the book to include tab input, created UI icons for decoration items and hydrangea. Added mountain background sprite in and updated the game boundaries with tree sprites and mountain sprites.
Tutorial
Decreased the amount of beehives and flowers during the start of the game. Added mailbox flowers on game start and decreased the players money amount to $0.
Animations
Added mailbox animation alerts.
UI Menus
Added the beehive fullness jar to button UI hover. Added envelope to mailbox UI button.
Bug fixes
UI menu issues. Player movement updates, pick up/place bug fixes. Bee bug fixes. Beehive UI bug fixes. Animation for shipping bin repaired and functioning. Fixed jar emptying when placing bug. Fixed bees not interacting with placed flower bug. Fixed water object floating issue.
