Hello! :)
I just pushed a new build of the game (v1.3) and decided it was time for my first devlog-post.
As a solo developer, I'm always craving for feedback, both good and bad! Let me know what you think! :)
Here's what new:
- hero can now rest between rooms, which grants them +3 health. Alternatively, they can choose to remove a card from their deck.
- removed the option to remove cards from the improve-deck screen.
- added exploding barrels that explode (who would have thought) when attacked, and deal damage to surrounding units
- removed the wooden shield from the starting deck and reduced enemy attack powers by 2. The hero now has 0 armor by default. This change simplifies the game, especially for beginners.
- reworked hero gear cards:
- Forged by Flames can be upgraded, but was nerfed so it can only upgrade cards to its own upgrade level plus 1.
- Spiked Armor has Slow Equip
- Reactive Armor reads: "Sticky while weapon stack is larger than armor stack"
- small attack value changes for various weapons
- gave attack boosts to later enemies
- rebalanced the floor spawns, so earlier floors are a bit easier, later ones harder
- embark-screen at the beginning of the run shows starting hero and deck. Also teases the potential for other heroes. :)
- lots of visual improvements that hopefully make the game better to understand and clearer.
Plans for the future:
- music!
- more sound effects
- additional heros
- additional game mode that places more emphazis on the puzzle aspect of the game, and serves as a tutorial
- meta progression
- more board variety
- more enemies
- bosses!
- different dungeons
