The core nugget of the design is the follower AI. This will be an AI that when it catches you it will either display a game over message or take away part of a meter you will have attached to your character.
It might be fun to those who like games where they have to run away from something.
I can think of one game that does a similar thing to this idea, Resident Evil 2 had a 'follower' that tracked you around the map. Mine won't be as horrifying as Mr. X but it might be close.
