Salutations, Dear Players!
Today I've some news to share with you about the Migblock Project, and it's respective future.
So many of you have helped to test, and to play this Game along it's lifetime. We thank each and every one of you for the support, and encouragement.
However, as most of you have most definitely noticed, the project has been rather quiet in regard to development lately.. This is due to quite a few reasons, however the most prominent is the fact that Minecraft already exists, and competing with such a title is just about impossible with a team so small as ours.
Do not fret! This is not a resignation from our Team, rather an exciting foretelling of the Game's future.. As aforementioned, Minecraft already exists, and therefore there is thusly no reason to attempt to recreate it, and so we have drawn other plans..
So! What now?! Well, I'm glad I asked!
Migblock will no longer be a Standalone game, it will instead be an open source Minecraft Client. That's right! We plan on recreating Migblock from scratch to be compatible with Minecraft. There is quite a lot of detail in regard to the specifics of such a task, however our lead developer has some rather inspiring passion and motivation for how exactly it shall all work and such.
And there you have it! Migblock shall in future be an Open-Source GPL2.0, or GPL3.0, whichever the Linux Kernel is, I suppose.. -client for Minecraft.
We predict that it will work in LAN worlds, and servers configured to support "Migblock Connections", which I'm sure there will be a variety of tutorials produced at some point in the future.
We will be hosting a server that you can play on, as usual. And at some point we may potentially implement the functionality for Singleplayer.
