Post-7DRL update - v0.11

Railrogue
A browser game made in HTML5

A few bug fixes to whet your appetite

Well, the deadline for the 7DRL submission has come and gone, and with that, a number of bug fixes!

  • Keys and pickaxes should no longer occasionally "pay out" when not near a chest/gemstone
  • Automatic dead end detection is improved
  • Added area names (really, only one for now) - for future expansions
  • Tooltips now display an enemy's strength as well as its total hearts
  • Added a li'l hit animation when the player takes a hit
  • Train cars now disappear when reaching the exit, rather than just getting really small

You can also hold the space bar to speed up the train, but it is still a bit buggy, so be careful! Bug reports are appreciated.

Looking to the future

In the coming months, I'm planning on rolling out a number of themed sub-areas of the dungeon, each with its own unique enemies, items, and gameplay mechanisms. The first will be an icy area, with icy surfaces that you'll slip and slide on, plus frozen objects that need to be pushed or carried near fires to thaw.
