Version 10 - Starships, Squadrons, and Quality of Life Items

We have starships! There are not many changes for planetary combat, but there has been A LOT of work done in space. There are 3 ships in the game now and 1 squadron (bombers). Their costs will change, and these may be unlocked later in the game, but enjoy them now while they are in there! These updates set up the ability to start building out the space combat mechanics which will be coming in future releases. Here is a list of the changes in this release:

  • Fixed starship build time so you can build them in less than 300 minutes
  • Added fighter squadrons that can be deployed from a Carrier and attack specific components on a starship
  • Added attackable components on starships, including shield generator which allows you to down a ship’s shields
  • Added ship AI so they fight back
  • Added a separate dialogue when an attack is pending. Don’t play warning sound until 10 seconds remain
  • Added keyboard shortcuts to unit action buttons
  • Allow chop wood with right click
  • Allow building in the fog of war (only when enemies are not present)
  • Updated some of tutorial dialogues to be more informative
  • Add tutorial to build the mech factory before attacking the enemy base (dialogues not added yet)
  • Fixed bug when right clicking and dragging would show the unit selection box instead of issuing move action
  • Fixed issue with minimap (and other UI elements) when in a resolution that is not 16:9
  • Fixed bug where Scout Tower build dimensions were too small, allowing it to overlap with other buildings.
  • When right click to assign a group of colonists to a building, assign the idle ones first. This allows you to select a large group and assign them all to multiple buildings
