COMPLETE WALKTHROUGH
This guide currently shows you how to obtain the following endings:
- Friendship - TRUE HAPPY ENDING
- Sans - TRUE HAPPY ENDING
- Papyrus - TRUE HAPPY ENDING

- Grillby - TRUE HAPPY ENDING
- Wingding - TRUE HAPPY ENDING
- TRANSLATIONS
For a vague walkthrough on how to obtain a “true” ending, please see below. For a more detailed walkthrough keep scrolling down.
- You need to obtain the chain located in the ruins.
- You need to hug Toriel before you leave.
- You need to obtain the stick located outside Snowdin.
- You need to obtain Shyren’s support in waterfall.
- You need to keep the piece of paper in the labs
- You need to help the entity.
TRUE HAPPY ENDING GUIDE
- In the ruins you must obtain the chain locket. To do this after picking up Flowey you need to choose to return to the graves.
- Select: You linger at the graves. You think they look lonely. OR You linger at the graves. You want to offer up a prayer for them.
- In the ruins you must hug Toriel at the end of your encounter.
- Select: ACT: You hug Toriel. OR Before you go, you give Toriel a hug.
- In Snowdin as soon as you reach Snowdin you must immediately choose to leave. This will be the top choice the first time you enter Snowdin.
- Select: Leave Snowdin. It’d be nice to explore a bit more since you didn’t get a chance to earlier.
- This option only appears the first time you enter Snowdin. If you do anything else in Snowdin, it will disappear.
- In Snowdin after you leave pick either the left or right path to encounter Greater Dog. At the end of your counter choose to cuddle Greater Dog.
- Select: MERCY - CUDDLE THE GREATER DOG
- In Snowdin when you return to Snowdin there will be an extra option of the Greater Dog trying to catch your attention.
- Select: Greater Dog is trying to catch your attention.
- In waterfall go forward FIRST. This will let you encounter Shyren. Succeed in this encounter to secure Shyren’s support.
- Select: Take the path going forward.
- In the labs you must ask Flowey if there is anyone else in the lab. This will allow you to go down the path to save Alphys, and you must save her.
- Select: You ask Flowey if he saw anyone inside.
- In the labs When you have the option to explore the floor after leaving the elevator, take it.
- Select: You want to explore this floor.
- Then select: Enter the gaping hole at the back of the hallway.
- Then select: Yes. Keep the paper.
- In the labs You must commit to wanting to save the entity every chance you get.
- Select: Yes. I want to connect with the entity.
- If on the right track the transition screen at the end of Core/City will have the below dialogue:

- The <...> chain in your pocket feels warm to the touch. You have a feeling you will find the other piece before this journey is over.
- Toriel saw you on MTT. She's thinking about you.
- The dogs in Snowdin saw the stick in your back pocket when they watched MTT. They howled so loudly that Grillby had to kick them out.
- Shyren saw you on MTT. She was so inspired by your words she wrote a song for you. She can't wait to see you again.
- Dr. Alphys listened to you on MTT. Her favorite genre is also <...>. It made her smile to know you have that in common.
- If not on the right track the transition screen will have the below dialogue:
- 👎︎□︎ ✋︎ ⬧︎♍︎♋︎❒︎♏︎ ⍓︎□︎◆︎✍︎ - This means you did not get the paper & did not commit to saving the entity.
- You did not leave them flowers. - This means you did not get the chain back in the ruins.
- You did not reach out to her. - This means you did not hug Toriel at the end of your encounter.
- You were not given the stick. - This means you did not get the stick from the Greater Dog in Snowdin.
- You did not sing with her. - This means you did not encounter Shyren.
- You left her to die. - This means you did not save Dr. Alphys.
- Goodbye. - This means you are locked into the neutral route ending at Judgment Hall.
SANS TRUE HAPPY ENDING
- In addition to the true happy ending guide (see above) you also need to select the options to romance Sans. In general Sans is always watching you, so any time you say something positive about him or remark you want to be with him it adds a +1 to his romance.
- In Snowdin when you first enter if you make the “eep” noise it amuses him and initiates an extra set of dialogue.
- Select: You let out an eep and turn around to face the owner of the new voice.
- In Snowdin after “eeping” you have the option to choose how to romance.
- For a “Shy” / “Demure” Frisk select: You blush from the strange skeleton’s words
- For a “Bold” / “Flirty” Frisk select: You coyly flirt with the strange skeleton. There are ways to find out what noises you make. Fun ways.
- In Snowdin at the end of your fight with Papyrus make a “joke” about getting along with future-in-laws.
- Select: You want to be his friend.
- Then select: You tell Papyrus it’s because you want to be on good terms with your future in-law.
- Sans will choke on his chimichanga in the background hearing this.
- You’ll be auto-locked into Sans’s unique dialogues until hotlands where you’ll have the opportunity to jump onto the friendship route or continue on Sans’ route.
- In hotlands after leaving the lab be sure to go over to Sans to earn some extra romance points.
- Select: You happily go over to Sans.
- You are locked in all the way. Just make sure to grab the items for the true ending to avoid a tragedy.
PAPYRUS TRUE HAPPY ENDING
- In addition to the true happy ending guide (see above) you also need to select the options to romance Papyrus.
- In Snowdin at the end of your fight with Papyrus you will need to initiate romance.
- Select: You want to be more than his friend.
- In Snowdin after initiating you have the option to choose how to romance.
- For a “Shy” / “Demure” Frisk select: Red-faced and shy, you try to clarify.
- For a “Bold” / “Flirty” Frisk select: You waste no time in clarifying.
- In hotlands after you leave the labs (and avoid Sans) you’ll notice a bunny monster trying to get your attention. Go over to him.
- Select: You head over to him, curious.
- You are locked in all the way. Just make sure to grab the items for the true ending to avoid a tragedy.
ASRIEL TRUE HAPPY ENDING
- In addition to the true happy ending guide (see above) you also need to select the options to romance Asriel / Flowey.
- In the ruins when Flowey asks if you are going to kill him, tell him you would never hurt such a cutie.
- Select: You could never hurt such a cutie.
- In the ruins promise to protect both of you.
- Select: You reassure Flowey that's okay. You can protect both of you.
- Do not romance anyone else. He will make a jealous remark, then end the romance. You must stay on the “friendship” route all the way to the labs.
- In the labs once you are through the first locked door, ask Flowey for help on crossing the electrified water.
- Select: You ask Flowey for suggestions.
- In the labs when Flowey asks if you are scared, tell him it’s okay as long as he is with you.
- Select: You’re not. You have Flowey beside you, so what’s there to be scared of? OR You are. But it’s okay because you have Flowey beside you. You promise to keep both of you safe.
- In the labs if you’ve done well so far when you meet Dr. Alphys there should only be one option.
- Select: You remember your dear Flowey.
- You are locked in all the way. Just make sure to grab the items for the true ending to avoid a tragedy.
GRILLBY TRUE HAPPY ENDING
- In addition to the true happy ending guide (see above) you also need to select the options to romance Grillby.
- In Snowdin you have to do three things before fighting Papyrus.
- Select: You hear groans down an alleyway.
- Select: You notice a bar at the far end of the village named Grillby’z. You go inside. (This will kill you. That's okay.)
- Once the above two have happened, you will have a chance to now see Grillby.
- Select: In the corner of your eye, you see something bright that catches your attention.
- Now choose the options to flirt & wait for him.
- Select: He's... hot. Pun partially intended.
- Select: Linger. You're... curious about something.
- Select: Keep waiting.
- This will keep you on the Grillby path, asusming you do not romance anyone else. You will meet Grillby again at the Core/City. When Mettaton interrupts you, move closer to Grillby.
- Select: Shuffle closer to Grillby.
- You are locked in all the way. Just make sure to grab the items for the true ending to avoid a tragedy.
WINGDING TRUE HAPPY ENDING
- In addition to the true happy ending guide (see above) you also need to select the options to romance Wingding.
- Wingding’s romance is unique in the sense you have to stay on the friendship route until the very last chapter. Do not romance anyone else.
- Also, even if you do not obtain all the true ending items, as long as you have the locket & the paper, you will always get a “good” ending.
- In the castle on the friendship / standard true happy ending route when you obtain the locket choose to think about Wingding.
- Select: You can't help but think you'd like to see Wingding inside.
- You are locked in all the way.
- If you have all the items you get the HAPPY ENDING. If you do not, you get a NORMAL ending.
