Running Beta2 in MAME will be more straightforward. There will be no need to 'masquerade' as puzzledp or joyjoy, and the game can happily coexist - with perfectly recognisable filenames (ie 'xevious') - with all the other neogeo/ngcdz games.
Thanks to Blastar for taking the trouble to run me through it and even produce a .xml file for me!
