Hello hello! Thank you for playing Lifelong Dream, a small glimpse into the world of Fiamme Eterne. I've just released a slightly updated version, so I thought "might as well write a bit about it!".
Here's what's new, so you know you're not missing much if you're skipping a second read:
So, what else?
Everyone and their mom knows I'm working hard on Toumayhem at the moment, and if you don't know about that but you like how I write my characters you might want to check that one out. Since the game's almost done I've started working on Fiamme Eterne content after two years of plain design to not take time off of Toumayhem. Lifelong Dream is just a short story I wrote to put down some things about its main characters and indulge in cute romance, but I'm glad I did. I've received lots of nice comments and some people were intrigued, so yay? Thank you so much for being kind. It really means a lot to me.
Yes. Sorry.
Fiamme Eterne (translated: Eternal Flames, as you might've guessed already) is the future rpg project I'd like to take on next. I've got a good grasp on the story, most game mechanics (but you never know until you test them thoroughly!), characters, monsters, additional cont- yes I've been thinking and writing about this for a few years, why do you ask. But it's still my first rpg, and I've made enough games to know that if you jump into a genre you've never done before with grandiose ideas you DIE. That's why my plan is to release a smaller scoped rpg (hopefully) later this year: Fiamme Eterne - La città che amo (AKA The City I love). It's set when Elster and Grus were 8 years old, and tells the story of when they met and a particular day in their life. It's a great chance to get the hang of the engine, a good, solid workflow, and start building blocks I'll be using in the bigger game. As with Lifelong Dream, I'd like it to be self-contained while still being interesting in the grand scheme of things. It's a nice little world I came to love a lot during these years, and I hope you'll like it at least a tiny bit too.
Project page coming eventually, surely after Toumayhem will be out because it's close! It's so close! Man that's scary.
