Another month is over. That means another monthly report and as a bonus, new game version. Your previous saves should be compatible with this new version.
Relatively small version focusing mostly on improving recent systems, but it also contains some completely new features. Mainly the exercise system.
Exercising is another way to increase your wellness and boost your physical atributes. You can exercise at specific spots. The bonuses you get depend on the equipment you use. You can also exercise with no equipment at all. Exercising costs mood and food, it also advances time by half a day.
First tier of tools can be found around the world. Second tier can be bought from traveling merchant, or you can use it for free at the training spot above Riverstone after one year passes.
Better tools will require you to have certain level of the trained attribute before you can start using it. Exercising often will slowly make the mood penalty smaller and will increase the wellness bonus you get, so it is a good idea to exercise often. I also added two new traits that affect exercising.
This system is quite simple, but it should make raising wellness easier and will give you another use for food and another activity to skip half a day.
Next, I improved the trait window. I color coded the initial warning screen, split all traits into three categories and added confirmation when you are done selecting.
All of these are good improvements Categories will make it easier to select traits because now you don't have to scroll through one long list. Confirmation will stop people from accidentaly skipping the trait selection and color coded warning will make it easier to remember the controls.
I also overhauled item usage. This should work for all food, drugs and healing items. Now you don't have to open your inventory over and over if you want to use multiple healing items. Inventory will stay open after using them.
Also, stat bonuses from traits should now properly affect the displayed values in the description column.
Version 0.27.1 added new option to reset your traits by talking to Mr. White, curent values for certain attributes now show in the description window (pictured above) and added hair color options as free traits at the start of the game.
Next version will contain very early war system. This could be considered pre-alpha, since it will be very barebones and self contained, not affecting other parts of the game. You will get access to this new system in the unlocks cave, which means only people who beat the game atleast once will be able to try it. This is to stop the confusion from new players.
I will write more about this once I have everything ready.
