I’m not quite done with everything, but it’s been a long time since I made a public build of the game, so I figured I should get one out the door!
The Basement level (and only the Basement level) features an actual way to escape: pull the circuit breakers, then run through the door. In your way are wooden barricades, which you have to slowly (and noisily) pull down. Flipping breakers also makes a loud noise. So, both of these will quickly get Fen’s attention!
Additionally, piles of debris will slow you down and make loud noises when walked over. Watch your step.
In the future, there will be more kinds of objectives (e.g. a keypad you need to find the code for) and more obstacles (beyond various configurations of planks).
You can now play the game with a controller! The only exception is the debug mode – that will be slowly replaced with a proper spectator UI at some point.
Hint popups will show the appropriate inputs based on how you’re playing the game, and you can freely switch between mouse+keyboard and a controller.
I’ve given the spatial audio an upgrade, so sounds coming around corners and from a distance should be a little more immersive now. You can read more about it here.
