#Test #Drive #Unity #simulation #racing #pseudo-3D
After working on my game, I started thinking about new ideas. I've already managed to generate a similar canyon-styled road like the one in the very first Test Drive, so the jump to actually recreating the game is pretty small.
I'm going to use my very own Outrun engine which I will adapt to get a slower paced driving experience. Right now I'm trying to simulate both rear and front wheels, so I can divide the brake force between the front and rear wheels. This way the front wheels won't lock up anymore while downshifting without rev matching.
The steering will be completely redone. In the Outrun clone the car follows the road, but veers to the left and right. In Test Drive the car actually turns. Digital controls will probably be similar to the controls in Test Drive 2: The Duel, while I'm still figuring out how I'm going to do the analog controls. It feels like crap right now.
