Greetings!
Good morning, afternoon, evening or whereever you are, or should I say, whenever you are? The release date of Vector Light is closing in and I wanted to talk about a few things comming to the game, including an exclusive customisations item for each and every beta player!
Beta Rewards
To everyone who played a beta version, which is any version below version 1.0. You will be rewarded with an exclusive customisation item or items. In order for the game to detect that you are such player, you will need to make sure you still have your profile data available on your PC. This is located in %appdata%roaming/Light_Vector/Saves/ in this folder you should be able to find the folder Profile0, this is an old profile. The game generates this for you upon launch, and depending on what version these profiles are generated differently. 1.0 profiles are a bit different from beta profiles, so this is how the game knows you played the beta. So, in order to get this, download version 0.2 (it's attatched to this post) or if you still have it installed or any older version you can just use that, launch the game, wait for the menu to pop up and close it again. Now you should see in your saves folder the Profile0 folder that makes this detection possible. After the launch of version 1.0, you will need to download this new version, install it, and run it. The game will automatically detect your old profile, and will reward you with the "Play Tester" unlockable, as well as get rid of this outdated profile and give you a new one (yes, you will have to start over from level 1). Please note that this will only work in version 1.0!!! Any version after 1.0 will have this feature removed in order to prevent distribution from older versions causing people to get this item without having played during the beta. Also, if you want to migrate your saves to another PC, just copy the Profile1 folder from the Saves folder and put it in the same location on your new PC.
Menu Changes
I made a few changes and improvements to the menus in order to make them more user friendly.
Progress On Levels
So I was running a bit behind on schedule for the levels, but this was simply bc I ran out of inspiration. Instead I started polishing the game a bit during these moments, but I still have a lot of levels to go.
Customisations System
These are the 3 types of customisations you'll be able to apply, Music is a few mucic tracks you can unlock and switch from in this menu, Shaders are a bunch of effects you can toggle on and off (if unlocked) and Color Palets do a fancy trick replacing colors on screen with predefined palets. There will be a special shader and color palet for beta players.
Difficulty Levels
There are 6 Difficulty levels:
Release Date Might Get Pushed Back A Day Or 2!
College is starting again on Monday, depending on how well my classes are gonna be fitting with the work time of this project, I might have to push the game back a day or 2, but not more than 2!
