Hello!
After some needed feedback of the game, most of the biggest issues have been fixed. The controls should now be enjoyable, with no more button mashing needed, and the speed should also be acceptable now. Also, the asteroids now don't spawn to your face, but higher up, so you have slightly more time to plan your next move. Thank you so much for the feedback, it really helps me fix the issues.
ps. The menu sounds still glitch out and end up missing after a retry, or pausing the game. Looking through the code now, but I haven't got the slightest clue what causes it.
