Hi. It’s me, Vul. There has been a bit of silence from my side about SSC development. And I’m sorry about that. Some of you might know that I had and still have couple life changing stuff happening in IRL. And I needed my focus on that and that only.
Before we dive into past, let’s talk a bit about future – My plans and fears. My plan is to get this 0.4 out as soon as possible. To achieve that, I split original planned stuff into multiple releases. So when it comes to World Generation Upgrade, as title says, it will have multiple releases – 0.4, 0.4.1 and 0.4.2 for now. Both of those versions have already a list of stuff to-do. Now, my fear in this is, February and March are when I’m the weakest and I’ve priorities. That means, SSC development might be slower or even almost none during that time. At this point, I can’t promise anything. 0.4 release will happen when it happens. It can be this month or in April/May. Last option I do not like because whole 0.4 release point was to get releases out faster than twice a year.
Regardless, SSC was and is developed further. As a mater of fact, version 0.4 is actually ready. It has been for a month now. At this point I’m play testing it and fixing stuff here and there. At this moment I’m about to finish a rewrite of how missiles work. I rewrote a lot of parts in SSC to get it working and it looks like I’m going with this. Another awesome change is about AI. After a long thinking process, I took a bit of inspiration from how currently AI Machine Learning is working. I ended up implementing a way to give AI some preference on how player and world reacts.
