I'm done learning and building up game dev skills from scratch, it's time to put them to use! So the game-making practice project is meant to get me used to making, managing and finishing games at various scopes, from just 1 hour all the way to a 1-3 month project. The project scope consists of the following:
So Memory Match is the 3rd game in the project. I learned my lesson with the 2nd game, kind of, and kept the scope for this one very small and simple, just flip cards and match them. It's a two (work) day project, though I went a bit overtime on it and took 2.5 days total, as I really wanted to finish the polish work (art, music, bug fixes) before releasing it.
I had a lot of fun working on this game, especially the artwork. It feels good to finally release something playable! The level doesn't change though, in just 2 days I couldn't add replayability to it. Overall I'm very happy with the result, and looking forward to the next one!
