0.1.14 (Fulham Broadway) released
Version 0.1.14 (Fulham Broadway) has a lot of behind-the-scenes improvements in it that took a long time to get working properly, but will allow for more dynamic levels in the future. Key updates in this version are:
- Added a Linux build (note: I haven’t been able to test this, so if you’re using Linux please tell me if it works!)
- Added an optional “Status log” - this is intended as an aid for hearing impaired players, and shows a text version of events around the level that are otherwise communicated via audio cues.
- Lift movement system completely replaced. Lifts can now travel up and down multiple floors, and movement can be reversed (so if a lift is part way up, pressing the lift button again will make it go back down without having to reach the top).
- Added a “System notes” window facility to show information at the start of a level.
- Robots can now work away in the background of the level selection screen.
- Level selection screen background is chosen at random from a list of backgrounds for each zone.
- Added display of attempt history data to level select screen: when selecting a level you’ve attempted or completed, you’ll see information about the number of attempts you’ve made at the level, and your stats from the last successful completion.
- Added “level author” facility to level designer and level select displays.
- Fixed sorting of level component lists in the editor
- F7 feedback dialog now supports selecting a feedback type.
- Added navigation grid generation and NPC pathing and movement support.
- Added a new AI (COP Watchdog) [NOT FINISHED].
- Tweaked background colouration of various UI elements to improve readability.
- Added two longer data beam decoration objects.
