It's the first Monthly Summary of 2023!
January went by so fast, it feels like it was just back-to-back holidays the whole way. For those of you who celebrate, I hope you had a fun and prosperous Lunar New Year. Our team will soon be back to our regular schedules, so you'll see more of us posting across our social media (you can find all the links at the top of our itchio profile page).
Following your feedback, I have updated our progress infographic to include more elements you wanted to see, and the breakdown progress of the single routes you asked for.
Which do you prefer, the old one or the updated one? Is there anything we missed?
My favorite part of tracking development this way is that it gives me a much clearer overview compared to the simple to-do list I used previously. I can now set monthly percentage goals for the team to ensure we are constantly making progress, and decide which areas need more attention.
The script is currently at 163k words, and I'm a couple of scenes away from completing Kanzen's Day 4. It's the longest chapter in his route, and there's so much going on, I hope you will have as much fun reading it as I did writing it!
This month, Moon drew 1 more "alternate" outfit for Hano, and started work on the side cast missing sprites.
Here's Mune's second pose, showing off a different side of her personality. And some of my favorite expressions hahaha
I spent this month focusing on updating the existing backgrounds and rendering the missing models, so I will only be able to share the new locations next month.
I remember when I first made the dormitory's orchard background, I said I'd go back and re-paint the berryleaf hedge if I ever got the chance. Well, I finally got around to doing it, and I'm so happy with the result!
Moon spent January working on getting as many CG sketches done as they could, so we did amazing progress on that front. We're not quite comfortable sharing images in that stage with you, though, so here is a sketch you might have seen before. It's been a while, so let's look at it again hahaha
Our talented composer Hiroki Eto recently made a new track for the game. Give it a listen, and please send some love his way!
Both Elseth and Nanapop are fellow indie devs creating visual novels here on itch.io, so do check out their profiles!
See you next month,
