It was Day #4 now,
It was time to make some gameplay!
I opened up Unity.. and then closed Unity .
I wasn't feeling very motivated for the gameplay so I decided to animate the enemies instead
It was my first time animating non-humanoid characters so I had to look up some references
After 2 hours of pain and suffering, I finally managed to animate these enemies
I was in flow with animating, so I decided to animate the player jump as well, even though I had not implemented jumping yet
So that was exactly what I did next, I opened unity and made a jumping system.
I used animation events to sync the animation with the actual jumping.
I went for a master Yoda style character as when he walks, he uses a staff to walk like an old man
But when he jumps, he goes full jedi master mode and performs a front flip. I think it gives the character more personality and a little goofiness which is always nice
Then it was time for the enemy AI.
I made it so the enemies detect ground at their feet and automatically turn back if they don't detect any ground.
I was ultimately pretty satisfied with the result and also the progress I had done on that day.
Work Accomplished :
