Next Steps

What better way to bounce back from my previous lost project then to create a new game... that bounces!

Pong was one of the very first games released in Circa 1972 (been wanting to use this word!) for Atari and widely used as a beginner programmer course to learning game coding.

Do you like competition? Are you always betting with friends/family? Do you sometimes have an important decision to make and rather then flip a boring coin, you let which computer player decide your fate?

Then become a Pong champion and take home your win! (or use it to host betting nights on which computer will win!) Ideas may include;

• Doing the dishes for a week
• Taking out the trash for a month
• House cleaning (use your imagination!)
• Who gets to choose the next date night!
• Etc...

The game is only available if you have a PC and can play HTML on the web. There is also a windows download version available  you can unzip and launch directly on your desktop.

I have added also my own personal flair to the game and tried to keep the core game play as true to the original as possible including sounds. The game includes the current features below:

• 0 players (AI vs. AI)
• 1 player (you vs. AI)
• 2 players locally (same computer)
• # of modes
• Easy: paddles are slow and easier to maneuver and ball starts slow
• Medium: paddles speed up and the ball will speed up faster with every successful hit
• Hard: paddles have even more speed (MOAR SPEED!) and the ball will also speed up faster with every successful hit

Whats next?

I plan on releasing a 2 player network version so that you do not have to be on the same computer to become the next Pong champion in your circle! Stay tuned as the game gets some updates down the road. A wish-list below has been compiled to include the following:

• 2 player network play
• Updated ball graphics (after reaching a certain speed, cool effects
• Name customization
• Final score customization (do you want to have a shorter experience? longer experience?)
• Colour customization (who wouldn't want a pink or yellow paddle?)
