Happy new year!
Just wanted to check back in and show I'm not dead. I have been working on the game, and I made an important realization. I do not need the sprites to be down to start programming new bad guys! So besides pics of the new level, I also have the placeholder sprites for the a couple of the new bad guys.
I call them Ball Bomb, Cannoner, and Bull Worm. You can see also see the bull worm's detection rectangle, cause I didn't feel like turning it off when testing.
