0.2.2 - Neptune Rework, Campaigns, and Balance Changes
This patch makes some balance changes, and gives some new moves to characters who had a harder time stringing combos or doing significant damage. Tournament mode has also been expanded upon significantly.
Fighter Changes
- General balance changes made to the game.
- All fighters who have a specialized super special animation will be invincible during the duration.
- Balance changes made to Classic Spongebob.
- Timing of CSB's punch combo changed so that it is easier to throw the first two punches without throwing the third.
- CSB's standing kick can now cancel into his first punch. It also has more knockback.
- Increased damage of neutral and super special moves.
- Typhoon Kick has additional frames of hitstun.
- CSB now has a low-kick that can be performed while blocking.
- CSB can now evade out of his jump kick, making it easier to string combos.
- Easier method implemented for triggering an Uppercut after a jump kick.
- Uppercut now deals more knockback and has a bigger hitbox.
- Balance changes made to Fanboy.
- Valiant Charge counter capped at 25 (formerly Infinity).
- Fanboy's standing kick hitbox has been made bigger and has additional frames of hitstun.
- Balance changes made to Classic Timmy.
- Up and Down can now be pressed while aerial punching for minor course correction.
- Classic Timmy's second punch now launches the opponent upwards slightly to prevent infinites.
- Balance changes made to Danny Phantom.
- Timing of Danny's punch combo changed so that it is easier to throw the first two punches without throwing the third.
- Danny now has super armor during his Ghost Wail. His Ghost Wail is now faster, covers more range, and knocks opponents upwards.
- Danny now has an up-kick can that be performed by holding up while doing a jump kick in the air.
- Danny's evade now has more range, and is more practical to use.
- Danny can now perform his command grab without needing to evade.
- Danny's jump kick has more of a clear direction then before.
- Danny can cancel his up-kick into his neutral jump kick.
Tournament Mode Changes
- Bottles can now be broken during the mini-game.
- Tourney victory screen should now properly display high score.
- Campaigns have been unlocked. Four campaigns are listed, but only one is currently available.
- Super Brawl Campaign can now be played. Each character has their own unique storyline and cutscenes.
- The campaign is still unfinished. The following characters lack a proper cutscene for the second to last battle: Otis, Danny Phantom.
- The following characters lack a proper cutscene for the final battle: Classic Spongebob (does not have one for two of the possible battles), Fanboy, Classic Timmy, Otis, Rico, Danny Phantom, and Aang.
- King Neptune's boss battle has been reworked significantly.
- Blocking during the battle has been buffed to make it less pointless due to high damage from Neptune.
- Neptune now has three distinct battle phases at 100%, 66%, and 33% of his maximum hit points.
- Neptune now has win, lose, and hurt voice lines.
- Neptune's idle animation has been replaced.
- Neptune now has proper win and lose animations.
Bug Fixes
- AI Fighters should no longer get stuck in the air. (For real, this time.)
- General AI improvements to Danny Phantom and Sheen Estevez's AI.
- Patrick's super special no longer leaves the opponent stuck in the grabbed state.
- Patrick's jump kick no longer traps him in a perpetual falling state.
