Hiatus Over + New Years Update

Conquerrence
A browser game made in HTML5

It's been quite a while since this hiatus started- 9 months ago, to be exact- but I'm happy to announce that it is officially over and updates to Conquerrence will resume, starting with a special New Years update. You can find details on the accompanying devlog posted after this one.

As I wrote in the original hiatus post, the hiatus started because of a particularly turbulent situation with my family. While we didn't end up moving to the farm after all, we actually moved twice just within this period. This meant we had just barely settled in the first time when we started packing our stuff up again. Combined with Internet provider struggles (had to entirely ditch my last one after they didn't transfer my connection for literal months), I barely had time to really sit down and write.

Thankfully, the situation has pretty much been resolved, and I've settled down and gotten a new job.

The only downside to all this is that my job is a little on the time-consuming side, which means that I can't really make monthly deadlines anymore. Patreon supporters will still get incrementals and full releases ahead of time, and public releases will still be the build just before the latest one. Essentially, the only thing that's changing is the schedule going from solid to loose. As such, I will be posting incrementals a lot more often so patrons actually have something to read while waiting for the latest build.

Of course, it would feel really bad if the update the hiatus ended on was Patreon-only, so I'm wiping the slate and making this a public build. The next build, 1.8, will be released to patrons first when it is completed. When they get 1.9, 1.8 will be made public, and so on.

Lastly, I just want to say thank you to all the people who kept viewing, commenting and even downloading Conquerrence while it was still on hiatus. It really gave me the encouragement to continue working on Conquerrence even when my prospects didn't look quite so stellar. With this, I hope to be posting even more in the New Year.
