Hello gamers!
I am very excited to announce a major update for Dante's Detour! Here's what's new:
v1.38 - December 21 2022
- Inputs A/B switched to play more like Game Boy
- UP to interact
- SAVE crystal update
- New menus (Controls, Abilities, Passwords etc.)
- Map hints and fixes (Compass, Landmarks)
- New quests and Easter eggs
- Updated sprites and backgrounds (New player states, Animated backgrounds)
- COLOUR MODE (Once unlocked)
- General dialogue fixes, improved cut scenes and more!
Alongside all of these improvements (and bug fixing over this period) I have streamlined the main quest and left many of the others as more optional or side-quests. I have also tried to increase mobility and speed up backtracking before gaining access to fast-travel. These factors combined (hopefully) allow for HIGHLY optimized speedrun potential, both in any% or fully completed runs. I love speedrunning and I look forward to getting this up on speedrun.com soon and seeing people's times! Will you be able to top my record?
