Build 2 Progress Update

Hi friends! BowserPuma again, as always.

With the holidays fast approaching, I wanted to take a moment to update you all on Build 2's progress while I still have a moment to breathe before all the shopping, gift-giving, and travelling happens.

Here's what Build 2 will be offering:

• All of Day 4's content
• 1 new character sprite
• New backgrounds 
  • Illustrated & photos
• One new character graphic
  • This one graphic will have 4 alts.
  • Just to make sure I'm tempering expectations, it'll be a little bit NSFW.
    • We'll get to the good stuff later. Don't worry 😉.
• ~15k words of content
• New sprite outfits
• New tunes
• More voice acting
  • We'll be implementing our new voice acting direction which was discussed in another devlog.
• Maaaybe some UI and graphics upgrades?
  • I definitely want to do it, but it's near the bottom of my priority list.
  • If I release Build 2 without UI upgrades, it won't break my heart (too much).

So far, here's what's been done:

• All the writing and first round of editing
• New character sprite completed
• Some new tunes, not all

Here's what needs to be completed:

• Voice recording
• New character graphic
• New sprite outfits
  • A lot have been done, but there's more!
• New BG
  • We're currently working on the Chronicles kitchen BG. I want to get rid of that nasty photo I had to settle for! (Long story)
• Coding
  • Currently, the entire script of Day 2 is in the game file. I'm about ~70% done with the sprite and audio queues.

So now to answer the BIG question. When will you all be able to enjoy build 2? Well, I'm happy to announce that...

*drum roll*

...it'll be some time in February 2023!

I really really wish I could have this done for you guys in January. But it's not realistic with the holidays on the horizon. One of the beautiful things about working with a fabulous creative team is that we can get shit done a lot faster! But, we're also beholden to each other's schedules. I also have zero expectation for my creative team to work during the time between Dec 23 and Jan 2. In all honesty, I should probably take some of that time off, myself. I've been working on Build 2 nonstop, even before Build 1 was published. All in all, that pushes us to a February release for Build 2.

If you're not happy about waiting, I do have some good news for you!

• Our Patreon exclusive short stories series Chord Progressions: Staccato is available now for tier 2 & 3 subscribers.
• Tier 3 Patrons will have access to the review copy of Build 2. I'm anticipating releasing this in mid-to-late January.
