A new update is available for CodeWordPlay, which addresses some small issues while also improving the gameplay experience based on player feedback. It features a new mode called "Chill" as well as a new code clue type, "Arrows." Read on for update notes.
If you already have the game on your Playdate, I recommend deleting/uninstalling it on your Playdate console, then sideloading v.1.1, this should allow you to keep your progress in the game.
CodeWordPlay v.1.1 (12/14/22) update notes:
- Introduced new mode: Chill, which increases the duration of the level timer. There is no change to the rewards in this mode.
- Introduced new optional code clue type: Arrows, which changes the greater than/less than signs (< and >, now called Math) to up and down arrows.
- Modes, Clues, and the in-game tutorial are now accessible in the new options menu, which is found by pressing “B” on the title screen.
- The game will now push you to view the tutorial once if you don’t do so manually.
- The cost of three of the first four items has been adjusted to ease early game struggles.
- Players will now see a brief, additional explanation of each piece of gear upon purchasing them.
- Additional intrigue has been added.
