This was the first Unity project I decided to complete properly. I always try aim for the highest standards, but then when I fail asserting the idea into reality, I get disappointed with myself. So this time, I decided to work on something managable instead of a dream project.
I am happy with the current situation of how things are going! I like the idea of an infinite runner and the systems working behind the scenes have always interested me. So I decided to give it a try and in 72 hours I got this in my hands.
The random generation technique is very simple behind this project. It uses a tile-based generation technique in order to create inter-connected zones acting as the floor. Taking the player's speed to consideration, the rate of the generation is either increased/decreased during runtime.
Character movement is not physics based but is using a character controller that I've created. I am considering to switch to a physics based movement system in the future because who doesn't like goofy physics?
I'm also thinking about a combat feature in the game, as well as random rare/boss encounters in higher speeds.
