Alpha 5 - IMPORTANT! Ruleset format has changed.

TilePipe2
A downloadable tool for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Ruleset format has changed, so either use the built-in convert dialog, or copy rulesets from the updated examples. If you were using custom rulesets, here is what cahnged:

  • added “ruleset_type” parameter, now can be only “SQUARE”
  • renamed “tiles” array to “rules”
  • for every rule: part_indexes, part_rotations, part_flip_x, part_flip_y, all now have 9 items instead of 8. The first now is used for the center. This way you can rotate the center part in certain rules. It was a necessary change.

Other big change is a full set of UI components to work with tiles in the tree - you can now add, delete, copy, and rename the tiles from the UI. All the changes are written to disk.

Now the TilePipe2 keeps track of your input textures, rulesets, and templates’ file change time. The time is checked in case of any selection on the project tree or when TilePipe2 gains focus from the OS. It should feel like everything is insta updated in most cases. F5 still causes force reload of all the assets.

There are also a lot of UI tweaks and fixes.
