Hey! It's been a while since I've talked about Songs' development, so I figured I'd better put out a quick update on how things are going in Tamaris.
The main reason you haven't seen much in the way of updates is that I'm largely in the throes of prepping for final crowdfunding and eventual launch. That's right—I'm hoping to finish the writing and finally move on to publishing a full version of Songs this spring! I'm really really excited about this, and looking forward to it immensely; that said, it does mean that there's not a ton to show off, because a lot of it is fine detail work. I've spent the past few weeks finally getting down extended descriptions for all the game's actions; the rest of the work largely consists of the following:
Because of this, I want to say right now that you probably shouldn't expect much in the way of updates between now and spring. I do hope the version I send to crowdfund will be even better than v0.6, but as you can imagine, it's important to keep some things for the final edition of the game!
Of course, that's not all that's been going on. I should also talk about...
Daybreak is one of a pair of expansions I've been planning for Songs for years, and it's a chance to lean into the high-octane energy and unrepentant action of some of Songs' more bombastic influences. It's your chance to be a cool tech witch who fights kaiju and blows up the minions of terrifying space invaders. Daybreak will have:
I've been posting Daybreak snippets in our official Discord server and occasionally on the game's cohost page as well. It's taken a backseat in recent weeks in favor of finishing the base game, so don't expect it soon, but if you want a preview of the playbooks, you're welcome to swing by our Discord.
That's all for now! Hope you enjoyed the update, and thanks so much for your support. I'm so excited to be here, and I hope you'll continue to follow Songs as it finally comes into its own.
