Hey-ho, it's been a while, yeah?
Well, there are reasons for that.
I'm not going to give you all the personal details about my life, but some stuff going on IRL coupled with uh... (glances at a few blue-colored sites) all that... Has made me feel a bit stressed and admittedly, I haven't been able to get as much work done as I would like.
There's a loooot of factors going into that, as said, and it's gotten to the point it's a big yarn ball of a mess that is going to take time to untangle.
But, in the meantime, I've decided that I would like to step back from the big project that is Court of Fools and work on some smaller things--Primarily to keep my head in the game dev court, and to dabble more in the wider world that Court of Fools has to offer, so!
I'm happy to announce that I'll be shifting most of my development focus over to a new miniseries called Samson and Dell!
This series will be some smaller games focused on sort of 'monster of the week'-type stories, more mystery-based than CoF.
It focuses on two siblings, the titular Samson and his sister Dell, as they travel Torja and use Samson's magical abilities to help people with their paranatural problems, while also searching for some way to rid Dell of the curse that has confined her to a teddy bear and then rid Samson of his magic for good! The god they've gotten involved with has promised to fix that for them once they've seen their punishment through, but... C'mon, can you really trust gods? It's been a decade already, so time to take matters into their own hands!
So a quick little FAQ of stuff that might be going on in your head:
All that aside, the development of SaD will be a bit more casual and loose, for example I've kept Samson and Dell's references as colored sketches rather than fully rendering them:
I'm willing to accept some people might be a bit disappointed in this, but as I said, a lot of factors went into this decision, both internal and external. My hope is for SaD to be a less heavy introduction to the world of CoF, and perhaps it can allow me to adjust the threshold of beginning knowledge for CoF when it comes out!
Thank you very much for reading. Have a wonderful day!
