This week we focused on preparation for the beta:
This includes:
- Working on a level select functionality/art
- Working on new levels
- Addressing and applying the feedback from the previous playtests into our beta build
- New plant models to include in scenes
- Water pool mechanic that allows only puddle to get across
- Added sound effects to level mechanics
- Added background music to forest
- Various bug fixes
Challenges:
- Creating a new mechanic right before the beta and making sure it was working and tested before the full feature complete build.
- Time constraints, trying to add assets and audio as well as finish with needed dev tasks.
- Choosing which of the feedback from playtests to prioritize for the beta build and which to hold off till polishing.
