Devlog Week 9
NOTE: For this week, please also take into consideration the Devlog called Week 8, which was reading week. For our organization, we preferred to post two separate ones instead of clumping everything here. So what we have worked on for the feedback adjusted build is both listed here AND in the Week 8 Devlog.
- Other:
- Started writing the Playtesting Report and analyzed Pre-Alpha Data
- Dev:
- Continued working on the level design for the Second Level
- Completed the first version of Level 2, fully functional with 3 puzzles
- Minor Changes to new version of Level 1 to improve playability
- Fixed the water level for freezable water that was killing the player before it had fully evaporated
- Minor changes to Sliding effect: now the player can make a "mega jump" after sliding
- Minor change to Mud: was previously activated during Summer, now activates during spring
- For screens with buttons (PauseMenu, MainMenu, etc) if using controller, player will have to input something first, before the options/buttons become available
- Changed the season wheel ui at the bottom left as it didnt get merged from last week
- Fixed UI bugs such as not properly detecting xbox controller axis input at certain screens
- Added new LevelsMenu and revamped ControlsMenu
- Added jumping and landing SFX into the game
- Reconstructed player animation system. Now the player is able to use a blend tree for animation instead of separate states.
- Added picking up and planting seed animations to the game
- Fixed a bug regarding gems being used for gates that are already open
- Tested extensively for other Pull Requests and fixed various bugs with them
- Added a respawn screen when the player loses a level
- Smoothed out the wind current in autumn for a better game flow
- Fix that corrected the fact that the thorny bushes were not updating their textures properly

- Audio:
- Finalized the Main Theme, kept working on the Pause Theme
- Reorganized Folder with all music files and their types for better game integration
- Working on finalizing the 4 seasons Themes
