Dev Update #168

Progressing on scene 19.

Preparing scene 19 for posing, I had new ideas for the "neutral" variant of the scene. I couldn't help but rewrite it. It's slightly shorter but way better than the previous version. I hope I'll be able to pose it properly.

I prepared the scene for posing and planned about 375 shots. However, that number will evolve. Because I have to rework the hardsub variant at some point, and because I think I can't drop quite a few shots by reusing some renders across multiple variants. We'll see, but I have good hope to keep the render count under control while maintaining an appropriate visual flow.

The first dozen of shots have been way harder to pose than planned. I had forgotten about the girls' dresses and I had several problems while attempting to simulate the clothes. In the end, I cheated a bit and framed closer to the subjects to avoid showing the mess that was the clothing. I'm not proud of it but I guess it works. I still lost quite a lot of time on this. Next time, I'll probably get to the "cheating" part faster.

The dresses have now disappeared, though, and I'm progressing faster. later on in the scene, I'll also have a lot of shots with very minimal movements. Posing will be very fast but I hope it won't be too boring. Once again, I guess I'll see when I'll get there.

So far the previews are satisfying. I'll start rendering next week.

I finally chose not to update to the last version of Daz and I'll keep working with the now largely outdated 4.16. I'll probably make the jump with the v0.6.4.

The quick sum up :

• Day 6 Part 2 will contain 8 scenes (Scenes 19 to 26).
• Scene 19 is written. 11 339 words so far.
• 26 shots are posed, 350 more are planned.
• I'm working on posing scene 19.
