Next update is coming along. I spent some time working on a voice-acted instance of the story. It worked out okay but was really time-consuming- I'm putting this on hold for now.
Been busy updating characters and rigs. I added some extra facial bones to the Mica rig to try to get better expressions. After importing to Unity I found that the animation/posing systems I'd been using were having trouble with the extra bones. So, I dug into some alternate systems that could hopefully handle fancy rigging. It turns out I already had just what I needed with an asset called 'UMotion'. Below is a sample animation with some facial expressions. The timing is off quite a bit- I'd have to tweak the keyframes a bit to make the animation smoother but this was just a test so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Does this mean I'll be adding animated sequences to the project? Ahh, maybe? I need to figure out if I can integrate them into the story flow without messing up the pacing. Probably I'll start by animating cut scenes and see how it goes.
