The VR Sex Simulator is starting to come along, and I've finally got a focus for what I want to accomplish. First of all, though the High Def demo will still be available, I won't be working on it for the foreseeable future. Unity's HDRP does not work for the Quest 2, and from the data I've collected, the demand for Quest 2 content vastly outweighs that for PC.
I will be primarily focused on hand tracking. In the end, the app will probably be reliant on the player using controllers for scene set up, but using hands for interaction. For the new demo, Sex Simulator--Ride Me Kyara, I have the hands rigged to be able to interact with her breasts, as well as the right hand being able to trigger a sex animation. You will notice that there is a small silver sphere near her vagina. This is to show you where to touch in order to trigger her animation. In the future, its visibility will be able to be toggled off and on.
The menu can be used to lock the scene's position, and control lighting. There are also a couple buttons for other scenes. Those are not enabled in this demo. Unfortunately, for now, once you hide the menu, you cannot bring it back up without starting the app. In the future, you will be able to use a hand gesture to bring it back.
The demo is setup for AR, using the Quest 2's passthrough feature. Eventually, I will begin to add some kind of background, with a bed, but for now, any objects beyond just the girl, slows down the framerate. I will work to optimize in order to add to the scene. That being said, the demo is useable without passthrough enabled, you will just have a black background.
My progress will be fairly slow for right now. I've had to focus on activities that actively bring in money. My hope is to eventually get this project to a point where I can work on it closer to full time, but I'm a long way away from that.
I was hoping the Quest Pro would end up being in the $800-$1000 range, so I could try to start developing for it (primarily for the full color passthrough). At its current price-point, it would just not make much sense for me to purchase one. I'm hoping that the Quest 3 comes out next year, and has full color passthrough.
