Just wanted to give a quick update. This week, I've added the VIP mission scenes to the game. Next two weeks, I plan to do testing and then package for release.
I quite like how the VIP scenes have turned out, so far. They're not big, and they're not quite as varied as some of the previous scenes. But, I think the way they vary will feel a bit more meaningful. I've designed the VIPs so that they can have a gender and an attitude, similar to the officers. These parameters are also influenced by the values you might have picked, when starting a custom game. The variations in the scenes will reflect these differences from one VIP to another. I hope it comes off that way, anyway. I like this, because it feels like the different systems in the game - missions, NPC properties, game settings - are not just co-existing, but they are also interacting with each other. I hope this "personalises" the VIPs a bit, too.
