First and foremost, yes. I know a fk ton of versions of what is essentially the same game looks stupid. It is, actually.
But it only came this way because I messed up a lot of development decisions early on so now we're all stuck here with this wall of versions.
Anyway, I hope this release update helps you play our game with more flexibility and reliability, especially those using low-end devices that experience crashes and can't play the game at all.
About two months ago, early in the development of this game, I released an update where I added loading screens in the game. It boosted a lot of the performance issues we were having back then, especially since during that time, animations are being exported in 60 frames per second (now it's only 24 frames per second).
However, those "loading screens" didn't come with no faults. As I'm aware myself, the loading screens can occasionally fail and crash for no apparent reason or pattern. It's incredibly annoying and shit.
Starting now, every version of the game will be released with a "UT" or "Unthreaded" version that uses our game engine's default resource loading process. So at the very least, if the main "threaded" version fails, you can still have another option to try out our game.
This release has been long overdue now. I've gotten a ton of requests to release a public version of the Patreon-exclusive version of the game so we're now here with it!
Of course, our Patrons still get early access to most of the exclusive characters.
This is supposed to be done next week but I figured I'll just do it now since I'm releasing anyway.
Lastly, our Naughty tier patrons now also get an unlocked "debug" mode which previously only accessible to developers and select playtesters.
Right now, the only command that works is "spawn". Some reference commands:
spawn list spawn [character type] [hair color] spawn random spawn random random
You can access the debug console through the "tilde" ( ` ) key of your keyboard.
