Added Functionality + Upcoming Updates

Greetings, dear players! Here is a brief update on what I’ve been working on.

Butler: I just re-published a tweaked build of the game using itch.io’s uploading client, Butler. This means that every time an update, patch or bug fix drops from now on, your download of the game will update without you having to re-download the newest game build! In other words, you can now easily download any new updates, especially through the itch.io app. Unfortunately, this does mean that the first version of the game, which I uploaded straight to itch.io, will be incompatible with future updates. Humble apologies for any inconveniences this may cause. However, if I’m not mistaken, you should be able to transfer your save data by copy-pasting your saves from the “saves” folder from the folder of the game itself (Just Your Ordinary School Life Simulator/game/saves). Please let me know through our game’s Gmail, teamschoollife@gmail.com, if there is any information I can provide to help!

Kinetic Text: In this tweaked build of the game, I also added Kinetic Text! You’ll notice that some parts of the game will now feature glitchy or shaky text.

Onto some information about our upcoming update, Just Your Ordinary School Life Simulator Ver. 1.1.1!

1. Updated Assets: Per ChiefZika’s request, we’ve decided to add an update so that our character assets could sport cleaner line art, new hair highlights and lingering general anatomy corrections. He was able to clean up the assets for our main cast before we published our first build of the game, and he is hard at work on the teacher assets before he moves on to giving the staff and student assets this same beauty treatment. Our upcoming update will feature final touch-ups for all of our character assets.
2. Character Theme Songs: The Chief and I are working on character theme songs so that we can eventually replace all of the stock music in our game with our ever-expanding original soundtrack! Violet’s Theme is near completion, and we’re working on demos for Willow’s Theme as well as Connor’s Theme.
3. New Title Sequence: I am working on a new and improved title sequence for the game that will feature more of the Chief’s handsome character asset work!
4. Trailer: We are also working on a trailer for the game that will feature the updated assets and give players a sense of what they’re in for when they download our game.
