updated the Godot engine to 4.0-a17
also implemented a workaround for a (hopefully temporary, due to alpha) engine bug that prevented blobs from spawning in the released version (but not in my development environment, so that was fun to debug)
known issue: the same engine bug currently prevents the shaders from loading in the release version, so for now i guess have a sneak peek behind the scenes of how blobs are made :P
