Today in this devlog, I will be going over some changes I have made to the game post Game Jam. A brief list is shown below:
- Increased AI Speed, allowing them to catch up to the player if they are not sprinting.
- Added a pause menu to allow for quitting the game beyond Alt+F4.
- Added decorations throughout the level and better lighting
- Added a sound effect that is played when turning the flashlight on and off.
In total, the changes took a little over 3 hours to make altogether. A few ideas I would like to add to this project down the line is mainly improvements to the AI. Specifically in fixing the bugs where the AI can "telepathically" capture the player if they cannot be reached. I also would like to fix some errors with the collectible spawn system, as it creates errors within the engine that I haven't fixed at this time. Overall, for a first timer in this engine, I feel like this project has gone well and I hope to continue to make more improvements down the line.
