The most significant change is a new system for handling items rendering on the map. Now items can have unique icons each. I’ve added some public domain icons from Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup (RL Tiles), but honestly I don’t like the look of those :) I’ll try to change them into something more visible ASAP. But as a proof of concept now it works :)
Of smaller but maybe more significant changes:
The game now waits for 4 seconds before going down to the next dungeon level. It both softens the infuriating bug with accidentally going down. And also makes it harder to escape down the stairs from a swarm of monsters.
Vacuum cleaner now doesn’t “steal” difficulty from a monster patrol, and will spawn additionally, not instead of it.
Also the overall balance for higher levels is made a bit harder. The better items are now moved into deeper dungeon levels. And aspheroids now have a higher vision bonus, making stealth-killing those harder, not too much, but still :)
