Howdy! This is half an update announcement (belatedly), and half a devlog!
(I actually put it up on Aug 1st without an announcement post, but I just updated it with the new quests system, so here comes the launch announcement now!)
The original Scrabdackle demo went live on Sept 1 2020, two years ago, and had an incredibly surprising (in that it was so large) reception - that basically led directly to a strong Discord community, which led to a Kickstarter, which led to... well, this being my full-time job for the past year and a half.
This major update - the first since the end of April 2021 - is a complete revamp of all game systems and animation, as well as being substantially larger! I'll still be doing some updates to it for a bit, but it's close to a point that I'd be happy to walk away from. But don't take it from me, you can see for yourself by downloading here, or playing the demo on Steam! (I'd love it if you wishlisted the game there as well - it helps small games become more visible in the Steam search algorithm!)
I'd be really interested in a before/after comparison video of how development led to where it's ended up - the visual jumps are pretty substantial - but not sure I'll have the time. Still, things have come a REALLY long way!
I've got a video for you, plus some music and gifs!

Here's a new creature you can find in the Ducklands, assuming you don't scare it off - the Dappalope!
A few more new animations and things:
That's all for now, thanks and enjoy!
