The Molten Lair - Now with audio!
Time for our first update and devlog post for The Molten Lair! We have spend a couple of afternoons and nights this week after work and studies brewing up some delicious sounds and audio for you all to enjoy. We have a lot of thoughts about the future of The Molten Lair, some new gameplay ideas and improvements.
Let us know what you think, and what you would want us to improve for next time!
Added a whole bunch of audio:
- Sounds for all player attack abilities
- Sounds for all enemy attacks
- Sounds when enemy raiders spawning
- Ambience smouldering fire sounds
- General angry yelling sounds
Gameplay difficulty balance:
- Health now scales with progression, meaning it's more difficult in the early phases of the game
- Health regeneration scales with progression
- Adjusted damage from enemy raiders
- Adjusted size of ground slam ability
Visuals:
- Added button for smashing the audio
- Improved raider models and animations
Performance optimization:
- Added object pooling, for because going together is better than going alone!
- Improved animations
- Improved rag-doll processing
- Improved navigation script
Known bugs:
- Raiders spawning behind environmental obstacles, instead of from cave
- Muting music at main menu isn't coherent through scenes
