Week 1

Hello! My name is Alyssa Fant and I am a senior this year. I chose this class because I am interested in the creation and development of games of all sorts. When I was a kid I enjoyed making my own board games out of paper and colored markers. I mostly play videogames but I enjoy board games and card games with my family over the holiday. Every Christmas my mom buys a new board game for the family to try. Last year we played ticket to ride and I really enjoyed it. I think my favorite game would be Clue/Cluedo. I like the luck/strategy balance of the game and depending on what the player's guesses are they could go anywhere from 1 minute to 30. I do, however, wish there was some foolproof way to get 3 cards, one of each type, into the folder without anyone knowing what they are. There has been more than one time when the game wasn’t played correctly because there were only two cards in the envelope or 3 cards of the same type. I hope to learn the technicalities of game design and how I could develop my own games in the future.
