One day a while ago in a Discord call, I was trying to come up with ideas for a game as I just started getting into to game development, and one of my friends jokingly said "make a horror game where a bean chases you". I chucked a bean into Unity and gave it an AI script. Obviously, this wasn't scary at all (well that game at the moment still isn't scary but that's beside the point). My other friend then told me to add spider legs to the bean and give it red glowing eyes. Then BOOM. The birth of the spider bean. Once the core gameplay features were in place, I started trying to make the game look good, with trees, grass post processing, ect... Then after a little playtesting, I released the game on itch.io.
I thought that would be the end of spider bean. It would get a couple downloads from my friends and that would be it. But no. For some reason, the game that was supposed to be a joke actually started to get downloads and soon, nice comments and feedback from people that played the game. I am grateful for the support and now I actually have a reason to continue development on "Spider Bean".
Expect an update within a week :)
