Oops! I added a bug in the last build while expanding the number of Skills a player can select during the respawn sequence; if you didn't have any skills but selected that menu it would result in a soft-lock.
Thankfully, fixed. (whew)
Incidentally, Area 2 is now almost 100% playable minus a couple skill/item interactions, so hopefully players will enjoy that.
Plus: Area 3's map is done, and I've completed Monster placement. My goal to get items done as well as the infamous mid-Chapter bosses by this weekend.
I'd recommend re-downloading to address the softlock, and there should be no impact on players' save files.
