Ok so to be clear, this first update doesn't add any kind of gameplay changes yet, because i wanted first to figure out the optimization issue that some of you experienced playing the jam build.
I'm not entirelyt sure what caused the issue cause even with the debug info upon testing i couldn't any abnormal lag spikes of any kind, plus these issues seem to be exclusive to the web build :/
Now with that said i've tried some stuff, mostly related to the shaders on the tilemap, and hopefully things should work better ?
Also for convenience's sake untill i'm sure the lag issue is fixed this build has a "secret" level select added to test out individual levels more quickly instead of having to go through the whole game. You can access it in the Player select menu, instead of pressing Spacebar, press the T key (as for test) and you should be taken to a level select menu, just click on the level you want to test and you should be loaded there directly.
Do note that the player you had selected into the Player Select menu is taken into account after pressing the T key.
So there you have it, not all that fun of an update and a bit technical but hopefully this adresses some of the performance issues, if this managed to fix things i can then move on to tweak the gameplay according to all the feedback fellow jammers gave to improve the game :p
No changelog here as there are only some "under the hood" changes for performance's sake, the game itself is still the same for now.
Hopefully this has fixed some stuff , fingers crossed, and if i did things right i'll see y'all next update for some gameplay stuff.
Have a good one, cheers :)
