Planet Aid is a Videogame I developed during the *My first game jam' event here on itch.io. In 2 weeks the participants made games with the optional theme 'Heal'.
I had so much fun developing the game and hearing the reactions of players, leading me to decide to continue development on Planet Aid.
A new update is now available!
Here is a list of the many changes and bug fixes now in Planet Aid:
- Landmasses now come in more unique forms giving the planet generation more variety.
- Volcanos have been altered, Lava now bursts out of them in random intervals. The falling debris of the volcanos have been removed from the game.
- UI Icons have been added to show the player when a PickUp Effect is activated.
- On the how to play window Videoclips have been added and the text has been improved to make it more clear for the player.
- Leaderboard name text no longer clips out of the border when a name is too long.
- The player ship now has a more refined 3D model.
- A warp transition effect has been added and the loading screen between planets has been removed.
- Performance optimization (object pooling, code refinement)
- Post processing effects and a new skybox has been implemented.
- A new tree has been added giving the forests more variety.
- Better textures for landmasses, rocks and trees.
- Forests are now in bubbles, giving the player better visual feedback on where the forests are.
These improvements were made in order to lay a good foundation, giving Planet Aid the possibility to improve further in the future.
Thank you for reading and playing Planet Aid!
